Also their seating is inside or outside, but outside is covered and had tons of sunscreens up, plus heaters. So despite it being chilly, we could sit anywhere.
Last night was our first time here, and it was amazing. Weather was perfect to sit outside. Our waitress was great, she came back multiple times to make sure everything was good and to refill drinks. The fire island grouper sandwich was delicious, just not exactly spicy like it should be. Flavor is still very good, and the 4oz is a lot bigger than what I thought it would be. We also had the fried shrimp, fried to perfection. My 13 year old NEVER eats it without peeling off the breeding, but he absolutely loved them breading and all here.
Delightful alfresco venue. Ceiling fans that really work and move some serious amount of air to try and keep you from melting in the summer heat. Food and service was excellent. The garlic crab fries were a very tasty alternative to traditional french fries. They were served fresh, hot & crispy. The stuffed grouper, the pecan encrusted grouper, the grilled Outpost Trio (shrimp, scallops and grouper) and Grouper Santorini (all served as entrees with 2 sides) were superb. All very FRESH, well seasoned and served piping hot. All in all an excellent lunch. Staff was energetic, attentive, accommodating, and friendly all of which translates to superior service.
Really like this place. Big appetizers, a decent variety on the menu and the prices aren't bad. I had the grouper sandwich and it was just ok IMO. But I'm not a big fish fan. Fried Yucca, loaded was really good! So were the crab fries.
Terrible! So disappointed. We loved our Frenchy's Outpost until today. Server was terrible. Not on the ball. I was ready to drink and she never asked if I wanted another. Grouper Rueben was the most awful sandwich I've ever eaten. Shrimp were mealy. We told the server and she could have cared less. Will not be going back. Yuck!
A nice meal on a beautiful afternoon. The shrimp flat bread was very good. I would definitely order it again. It was very nicely balanced between creaminess of the cheese, sweetness of the mango and subtle saltiness of the shrimp. Our wait person was nicely attentive but not intrusive at all. Altogether a nice time at a well known standby in the Tampa Bay area.
